Z Day is Here: One Year Later has been out a few months now and doing great.  It took a while, but the book is finally listed on the publishers website. http://permutedpress.com/books/z-day-is-here-one-year-later

One of the side projects I do is running a blog/review website (www.popculturejunction.com).  The site has been down for a little while….ok, way too long, but it is being resurrected. We have some great writers, some new and some long time writers and will even have some guest writers joining us in the future.  On the site, we review anything pop culture related, from movies, TV, music, and beer, to book, photography, and “Manly” products.  There is a little of everything on there. The site should be up in the next couple days. I tend to write more about music, since next to movies, music is a MAJOR part of my life.  So please be sure to check it out and share it with your friends.

ON the writing side of my life, I am working on a few different projects. A couple of them I can not talk about, but once I am able to, please believe I will be talking about them until I am blue in the face. One I can talk about is a new horror script I have started working on. I wrote the outline a few months ago and have been working slowly on it, developing it into something marketable and fresh.  As most people know, I am a HUGE fan of horror, mostly slasher films from the 80’s, and have felt like lately horror has been watered down way too much. I feel like what the studios are pushing out and what people really want to see are two totally different things. I think we have reached a point in movie making, where people flock to the theater to see the latest remake and sequel in hopes that it will capture the feelings we had the first time we saw it, but mostly we leave disappointed. Now, I am a fan of a well made sequel and have often expressed my love of the Dawn of the Dead remake from 2004, but more often than not, the remakes tend to turn out like the unbelievably awful Day of the Dead remake.  So I strive to write something new and exciting, something that could spawn horrible sequels for years to come.  Something that feels familiar, yet completely new. I have to give a major shout out to Mitch Hyman for helping me and giving me pointers on it.  Mitch has been a big help on lots of my writings and deserves all the fame and fortune that comes his way!   I’ll post a little more once I have more written on it and will keep everyone up to date with the developments.

With ‘Z Day is Here’ re-released and the sequel ‘Z Day is Here: One Year Later’ just released, i flt it was time to resurrect this page and get a little more active on it.  Look around the page and you will see I’ve been pretty busy with other projects.

There are a lot of things coming up, including my annual trip to Spooky empire next weekend, where I will be a guest.  I will be doing panels and signings throughout the weekend.  Please be sure to check out their site for my updated schedule.

I’m adding some links below for Spooky and to Amazon where you can pick up the new books.

So enjoy the quick update and if you like the book, please be sure to post a review on Amazon, because that’s what helps sell book!

A new look

Posted: May 10, 2013 in Uncategorized

Thanks for hanging in there with me.  Lots has changed in the past few months and will continue to change.  Keep on the look out for a new website in the next week or so.  I will be updating everyone as it gets closer.  Not much info in this post, I know, but keep an eye out!

SO October proved to be a crazy month!  First, my kids book ‘Sometimes I am Scared of Zombies’ was released to the public and quickly shot to 10 in Children’s books on Amazon.com.  The book has been selling like crazy and I almost sold out at Spooky Empire in Orlando!  It was a great time.  If you missed it, you missed the opportunity to pick up the book and get it signed by not only me, but by the illustrators as well!

Another huge thing to happen this month was the premiere of the webseries I have been writing ‘StudvilleTV’.  The show is about four “studs” and their femme girls.  Below is the official description.  The show is a departure from my normal horror writing, but it deals with real life horror and allows me to expand beyond the normal kill ’em stuff I usually write, plus it deals with the LGBT community, a community I fully stand behind.  The link to episode 1 is below.  The show will be a 10 episode season and as long as everything goes well, we will get into season 2 shortly after.

I will be making an appearance at one of my favorite conventions, Spooky Empire!  I go almost every year and this year I had the pleasure of running the authors programming and I have a fantastic line up planned for everyone!!  Check out this guest list:

Whew!  What a line-up!  There are a few of those that are more considered media guests than writers, such as Aaron Sagers, who is the host of the awesome Travel Channel show Paranormal Paparazzi.  There are so many great guests and I am honored to be a part of this with them!

In movie news, Ace the Zombie will be showing two special screenings at the Plaza theater in Atlanta, one on October 21st at 9:30 PM and the second will be at October 23rd at 9:30 PM.  This event/showing will help raise funds for distribution.  I plan on being at the screening on October 21st and possibly the 23rd as well.  SO come out and say hello and watch this funny movie!

In book news, the re-release of Z Day is Here will be out soon.  There is a new cover available and some slight edits were made.  I would expect it to be on Amazon any day now.

My kids picture book “Sometimes I am Scared of Zombies” will also be out soon.  The illustrations have been accepted and we are just waiting for it to come out.  I should have lots of copies to sell at Spooky Empire!

Anywho, that’s whats going on lately.

My review of the 2012 Honda Civic Tour has been posted.  There are quite a few pics posted as well.

Go check it out.

2012 Honda Civic Tour

Lots going on over here (as usual). For starters, the serial killer script I wrote will start filming in March. I’ll post when they begin auditions.
My Kids picture book ‘Sometime I am scared of Zombies’ is almost finished; with Melissa Schneider and Brandon Peter putting the finishing touches on the illustration. I have seen them and they are fantastic! The book should be out in the next month or so.
Just started work on a new project can’t give too much info on it yet, but it is a fun writing project that is completely non horror related and a little out of my element, but I like the challenge.
Also, I am working on a Cryptozoology anthology book with fellow author/friend Alisha Sams. The stories are kooky, bloody, and lots of fun. I don’t have a release date on that yet, but I am hoping by early 2013.
Another fun thing I have been doing lately is concert photography and reviews.
I went to Mayhem fest and got some great pics. I’m going to be shooting the LInkin Park/Incubus concert Sunday and Uproar fest I believe in September. So keep an eye out for those pics and reviews of the shows.
In October, I will be running the authors programming at Spooky Empire in Orlando, FL. We have some AMAZING authors both new and existing this year. R.L. Steine and Heather Brewer are just two of the big names he have released so far! I’ll be down there the entire week again this year and can’t wait to see all my “family”.
Other than all the writing and photography, we have moved to a new city. We are now about an hour outside Atlanta and much closer to the mountains. Sure it is a little far out there, but I really love the peace and quiet out here, plus we’re on a big lake, which is always beautiful.
I promise to try to write more often.

Lets clear some stuff up

So someone made a comment a few days ago about me previously being associated with Living Dead Press.  I am not nor have I every been with Living Dead Press.  I originally had “Z Day is Here” published with Library of the Living Dead, and once the contract ended, I chose to go a different direction and we parted on very good terms.

Secondly, I moderate every comment that comes in to this page, so if you are here to bash myself or any or the readers, it will simply go into the trash pile, especially if you do not give your real name.

Criticism is good and makes me a better writer and opens others eyes to your point of view, but making fun of people is not acceptable on this page.

Now having said that, go check out my review of the Mayhem Fest on the From Dusk Till Con website.

Also, got word that the Illustrations for my kids book are almost finished, so we are getting closer and closer.  Very excited for everyone to read it and see the fantastic drawings!

Mayhem Fest 2012

Just wanted to drop a quick note.  I will be at the Mayhem fest in Atlanta tomorrow 7/14/2012.  I’ll be doing interviews for a new blog section on www.fromdusktillcon.com, where I will be doing concert reviews and interviews with some of your favorite bands.  I have been doing movie reviews for a while now and think it is time to jump into something else for a bit to help my ADHD.

For my other writing, I have a lot going on.  I am currently writing two ghost screenplays.  One will be a short film based on my short story ‘No More Forgiveness’ and will be directed by Bruce Downs and Mile 29 films.  Mile 29 films did a ‘Don’t Do Drugs’ Zombie PSA that I helped write, so I fully trust the crew to get the right feel of the ghost story.  The second one is a little too far off from being completed, so I’ll keep that info to myself for now.  Also, my Zombie Kids story is coming along nicely.  I have seen a few of the sketches and am really getting excited for this to be released.  I am hoping for a release date before October.

Speaking of October, I will be at Spooky Empire Convention once again, but this time I will be running the authors programming.  I have a TON of great guests lined up and will begin announcing them as I get some of the contracts back and finalize things.  Yep, lots going on in this little writing world of mine!
